Garden Club

GROWING HAPPY KIDS WITH HEALTHY HABITS

Berryton Garden Club meets after school during the fall and spring planting/growing seasons. Our clubs consist of 35 students and several adult volunteers. It’s an excellent way for children to learn about plants and their life cycles, the benefits of eating fresh foods, patience, hard work, dedication, teamwork, and developing healthy habits.

Students experience a mini-lesson on the types of fruits, vegetables, and herbs we grow in our garden and the needs of the plants. We spend most of our hour after school working in the garden: planting, weeding, harvesting, and so much more. Most importantly, we sample our produce!

We’d like to thank the teachers, Berryton families, Berryton Kiwanis, Farm Bureau, the Weaver family, Premiere Farm and Home, Tarwater’s, WestStar Energy (donation to our shed), Heartland Tree Service, and others who have graciously given to our garden.
